Ingredients
- Green Gram- 1/4 kg
- Chopped Onions – 1 no.
- Green Chillies- 4 nos
- Chopped Coriander leaves
- Curry leaves
- Mustard seeds 1 spoon
- Oil – 3-4 table spoon
- Grated Coconut – 1 half
- Salt to taste
How to make
- Pressure cook the green gram by adding 3-4 times of water as that of green gram.
- Add salt to taste.
- Cook the gram for 1 whistle (or just nearing to 1 whistle)( cooking too much will smash all the gram, and wont taste good).
- After the gram has been cooked, drain all the water in a container
Now for seasoning
- Add 3 – 4 table spoon of oil in a pan and heat it.
- Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, chopped green chillies, chopped onions, and stir well.
- After the onions are half boiled add grated coconut and chopped coriendar and mix well.
- Now add the cooked green gram (Salt is already added to the gram) and that would be sufficient for taste.
- Green gram usli is ready to eat and serve.
- This can also been given as prasadam for ganesh festival after pooja or (while ganesha visarjan).
